'Shining Brighter and Brighter' Proverbs 4:18

Faith in Action

At our school, we believe that faith is not just something we learn about – it is something we live out every day. Our vision, “Shining Brighter and Brighter,” inspires us to put our values into action so that our words, choices and service make a positive difference in the world.

One of the ways we shine is by supporting charities and organisations to raise money and awareness. The causes we support are chosen by our whole school community because they matter to us. Some have touched the lives of our pupils and families directly, some are local charities serving people in our neighbourhood, and others are national or international organisations that allow us to stand in solidarity with the wider world.

Many of our fundraising events are planned and organised by our School Council, giving pupils a real voice and active role in shaping how we serve others. This helps children understand leadership, responsibility and the power of collective action.

Some events, such as our Sponsored Walk and St Mary’s Got Talent, also give us the chance to strengthen bonds within our school family. They celebrate our gifts and achievements while raising money to make improvements that benefit everyone in our school community.

We also help pupils explore ideas of social justice – fairness, equality and standing up for those whose voices may not always be heard. Through our fundraising and awareness work, children see that even small acts of kindness and advocacy can join with the actions of others to bring about positive change.

By taking part in fundraising, awareness events and service projects, pupils learn that they can be a light in both the local and global community. In this way, our school values are not only taught but lived out, helping each child to grow in compassion, responsibility and hope — truly “shining brighter and brighter” through their actions.
