Collective Worship Team

Collective Worship Team

Our Collective Worship Team helps shape collective worship both at school and in St Mary’s Church.

This group is made up of Year 5 & 6 children who meet regularly with Miss Gray, our Religious Education Lead, to consider and improve the worship life of the school. They help to ensure that our collective worship is purposeful, thought-provoking, child-friendly and that its messages flow into daily school life and the wider environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Members of the Collective Worship Team:

  • Plan and lead collective worship, including assemblies and church services.
  • Help all children feel included and welcome during worship.
  • Monitor and review worship to assure quality and suggest improvements.
  • Make worship fun and engaging for all ages.
  • Be excellent role models who embody the school’s values.
  • Use their individual talents (music, drama, art, speaking) to enrich the worship experience.
  • Organise visits from speakers who broaden our understanding of diversity and a range of religions.

The team deliver Collective Worships based on our values and support the organisation of church services, ensuring our collective worship continues to inspire the whole school community.
