Wishing you a warm welcome to Year 1.

The children have made a great start to the new year and I'm very excited to see what this year brings and working you all to support your wonderful children in their learning. Our main priority this half term is for the children to settle into the new routine and make a happy and positive start.

Attached below is the Autumn term Curriculum letter which will explain all you need to know about this term.

PE:

Year 1 PE days are Wednesday ( taught by Mrs Zimet) and Friday ( taught by Miss Gill) . Please ensure that your child has a full, named PE kit in school on these days.

Forest School:

We will go to Forest School on Thursday afternoons. As the weather becomes colder and wetter, the children will need wellies, preferably to be left at school, and a warm, waterproof coat.

Homework:

Your child will have a colour banded book to read each week. This half term, the only homework will be to read daily with your child. The books will be changed weekly.

If your child is finding the book easy, don't worry- 'over-reading' is a great way for the children to secure tricky 'red' words and gain fluency and expression.

If you have any questions or concerns, please either catch one of us at the door before or after school or contact us via email:
